PandemoniUM in Elon, NC after Acappallooza on February 26, 2011

PandemoniUM, the most eclectic co-ed a cappella group at the University of Maryland, has been performing without the help of instruments for 18 years. Their extensive set includes songs by Janelle Monae, Evanescence, The Fray, Adele, Sara Bareilles, Michael Jackson, and more. With a passion for creating beautiful music, these pandas love to perform on and off-campus and across the nation at different universities with other a cappella groups.

In February 2010, PandemoniUM was awarded first place at the International Champions of A Cappella (ICCA) South Quarterfinals and advanced to Semifinals where they competed with 7 of the best groups in the South division. Additionally, PandemoniUM members Alex Brown and Suzanne DeStio were awarded with Outstanding Arrangement for “Chicago/Clocks.” In the previous year, PandemoniUM placed third in the ICCA South Quarterfinals.

PandemoniUM was also chosen to feature their recorded song “Breathe Me” on the nationally reputable compilation Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) 2009.

Throughout the year, the pandas love to travel to other universities and meet other acappella groups, perform at events on campus, sing for private events (such as marriage proposals and weddings), break out into song anywhere on campus, and volunteer their free time to sing in the DC-Baltimore area.
